The international Education Research Centre is a research centre specializing in Sino-foreign corporative education and international education. Also, it is the secretariat of Deans’ Association of Chinese-foreign Cooperation. The Centre now runs Research Institution for Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions, and Research Institution for Policies and Sustainable Development of Sino-foreign Cooperative Education, a provincial key research base for scientific planning.

Since its establishment, the Institute has organized a number of national and international conferences such as “Seminar on Theory and Practice of Sino-foreign Cooperative Education”, “Advanced Seminar on Internationally Comparative University Governance”, “High-Level Forum on Sino-foreign Cooperative Education: Quality Guarantee System Construction and Development” and “Conference of Deans’ Association of Chinese-foreign Cooperation”, which has helped build a good academic and practical exchange platform. As Secretariat of Deans’ Association of Chinese-foreign Cooperation, the Institute calls the members of the Association into a conference regularly. So far, it has held four conferences successfully; published 11 issues of its bulletin once a month; established a website for the Association to provide a platform for Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions to share information with one another; set up a WeChat public platform for the Association, on which it releases information about Chinese-foreign cooperative education regularly. All these activities have provided it with many opportunities for research cooperation and exchanges, expanding its influence in the industry.
Scientific Research Achievements
The Institute undertakes over 20 projects, including the ones supported by the National Social Science Foundation, national education scientific planning projects, the projects authorized by the Ministry of Education, and provincial projects. In 2015, Report on the Quality of Talent Training in Sino-foreign cooperative education, a branch of Report on Chinese Education Quality: Development and Quality, a project supported by the Ministry of Education, was instructed(?) or commented on by Premier of the State Council Li Keqiang, Deputy Premier Liu Yandong, Minister of Education Yuan Guiren and Vice Minister Hao Ping. The Office of International Exchange & Cooperation of the Ministry of Education wrote a letter to the Institute to express its thanks for what it had done. The letter said, “The report plays an important role in shaping the positive image of Sino-foreign corporative education, summing up the experience of Sino-foreign corporative education, and promoting the quality of Sino-foreign corporative education”. Besides, the Institute completed two special projects supported by the Ministry of Education: “Research on Construction of a Quality Guarantee System for Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions”, and “Theoretical and Empirical Research on Measurement of Cost Accounting and Charging Standards for Sino-foreign Corporative Education”.
At the 17th China Annual Conference for International Education & Expo 2016, the Institute, authorised by the Ministry of Education, released two authoritative reports on Sino-foreign corporative education: Annual Report on Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions and Research on the Present Situation of Sino-British Cooperative Education. Of the two reports, the former has? become one of the most authoritative research reports on Sino-foreign corporative education and guides to Sino-foreign cooperative educational institutions’ sustainable development. In addition, the Institute completed another two special projects authorised by the Ministry of Education: Research on Typical Cases of Sino-foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions, and Research on Teacher Team Construction for Sino-foreign Corporative Education: Quality Assessment and Institution Construction.
Development Planning
The Institute consists of three research groups: Sino-foreign corporative education research group, “One Belt One Road” initiative research group, and university governance & internal control research group. They mainly do academic research based on the cross-border education issues faced by Chinese colleges and universities. There is one person in charge of each research group, under whose leadership the group develops various studies.
