Citibank-DUFE Open Day Has Been Held Successfully

On the afternoon of June 9, 2017, co-organized by International Business College of Dongbei University of Finance and Economics and Citibank, “Citibank-DUFE Open Day” is successfully held. A total of 17 students of IBC participate in this event.

First of all, under the leadership of Citibank Wealth Manager Gao Jiaxin, the students visit lobby of Floor 1, Wealth Manager’s Office, VIP Service Area and other core areas. In the meantime, Manager Gao introduces the history of Citibank in detail for the students. Students not only know about the origin of the name “Citi”, but also understand the Citibank’s main business lines in China, and gain a deeper understanding of this foreign-funded bank.

Subsequently, Manager Eric of Dalian Citibank WMS shares his insights through the lecture entitled “Impacts of Politics on Global Economy”. With his rich experience, humorous style and close attention and professional analysis for the global politics and economy, Manager Eric reviews the recent major political events and their significant impacts on global financial markets. Students not only fully understand the US Presidential Election System, but also more clearly get wise to impacts of Britain’s Exit from the EU, the French Presidential Election and Dutch General Election on the global economy.

Subsequently, “job-seeking tips” are generously shared. From the perspective of recruitment experience for nearly two decades, Ms. June (Human Resources Director of Citibank North China) eliminate doubts for students by answering their job-seeking questions one by one. June not only explains how to make a professional resume and highlight advantages and avoid mistakes in the resume, but also shares each job applicant’s required preparations before the interview, emphasized communication skills during the interview, structural questions during the interview and proper answers, as well as the necessary business etiquettes and quality in the workplace. Students acclaim that this is really a worthwhile visit due to so many “job-seeking tips”.

Finally, Citibank overseas study advisors answer questions about overseas study. Students not only grasp the approaches to making required preparations for overseas study and making choices for majors, universities, cities and destination countries, but also more intuitionally understand daily life and fun of overseas study and preparations for future job-seeking. Through such close sharing, students not only have a deeper understanding of the future overseas study, but also enjoy more assistances in their planning for overseas study career.

Three and a half hours later, this event ends in a satisfactorily manner. Students comment that through the personal field visit to famous enterprise, they not only draw new blueprint for their academic attainment, but also take bright outlook on the future employment with greater confidence and more clear-cut goals. Similar events are expected to be held as many as possible. In this way, they not only gather more social practice experience, but also learn to behave as qualified professionals in the workplace earlier.
