On October 14th, 2020, the second joint management committee of joint programmes cooperated by Dongbei University of Finance and Economics (DUFE) and Ulster University(UU) was held in the meeting room in Shuyin building. The meeting was held in the form of video due to the pandemic. The meeting was hosted by Prof. Hongxing Fang, vice president of DUFE ,who is also the chair of the joint management committee.
In the meeting, Prof. Fang delivered a welcome speech and gave a report to the joint management committee on the achievement of the joint programmes. He expressed his gratitude to the Ulster University for its continuous support for developing the programmes during 17 years of cooperation. He hoped that Ulster University could continue to strengthen the close cooperation with our university, and promote to Double First-Class initiative project of Ministry of Education(MoE) .
Paul Bartholomew, President of Ulster University, delivered a report to the joint management committee. He stated our partnership took a significant step forwards with the establishment of new delivery model under the official approval of MoE, China this year. This is an exciting new chapter in relationship with DUFE and which Ulster is very proud of. Ulster is also very glad to hear the recruitment of the first approval on the new programmes model was very successful. He has confidence in the incoming freshmen that they would be learning at DUFE and always ready to be excellent.
Mark Durkin, Executive Dean of Business School(BS) ,UU, and Prof. Tao Meng, Executive Dean of International Business School(IBC), DUFE ,respectively reported to the joint management committee on the teaching matters such as curriculum arrangement, quality control and student management, ect. Associate Prof. Yingqi Lian, Vice Dean of IBC made a report on the first recruitment of students under the approval new model.
Associate Prof. Wei Geng, Vice Dean, IBC, Mr. Shuo Tao, Deputy Director, International Cooperation Office, Prof. Jackie McCoy, Associate Dean, BS, Ms. Catriona McCarthy ,Director of Global Engagement, UU also attended the meeting.
